LAKE DISTRICT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
The Lake District is part of the county of Cumbria. It is the most mountainous region in England and includes Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England. It also contains the deepest and longest bodies of water in England. The Lake District is both a National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is the land of William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin.
The Lake District is one of the most beautiful and romantic wedding backdrops I can think of. It definitely suits relaxed and laid back couples who love the outdoors. You are completely at the mercy of the British weather which can change by the minute and pays no regard to the season or the forecast. That unpredictability can be a blessing and a curse - it certainly keeps things fresh and exciting!
The Lake District has it's fair share of well to do halls and country houses, as well as hotels and barns, so there are a decent range of wedding venues to choose from. They all share amazing views and access to miles of unspoilt terrain which is an absolute dream to photograph.
My own favourite spots in the Lake District are around Buttermere, Haystacks and Red Pike in particular, and Coniston Water.
The Lake District and Cumbria are only an hour away from Newcastle along the A69, but once you are deep in the Lake District, those winding single lane roads can add another hour to your journey so bear that in mind when planning your travel times.
