Vampire Rabbit

For a few years Newcastle and Gatreshead Councils ran a Festival of Light, to encourage people to go out and explore the city at night. In 2006 I took the opportunity to photograph the famous Vampire Rabbit, which was dramatically lit. If you haven't heard of this before, its behind St Nicholas' Cathedral on Amen Corner. It was a fixture of the original building which was constructed in 1901.

No-one knows what the significance of the rabbit is, but it certainly made for an interesting and unique image.
