This is the second in a series of blog posts where I talk about other wedding suppliers in Newcastle upon Tyne and the North East of England. Today I want to tell you all about LL Makeup.
In 2014 I planned a series of vintage styled wedding shoots in Newcastle venues and I put out a casting call for make up artists. Laura Lou's work stood out from the crowd, and I immediately signed her up for the first shoot. I had set her a very tough task of replicating a crisp 50's vintage style, and I was so impressed with the standard of her makeup artistry, not to mention her enthusiasm, work ethic and personality, that Laura went on to contribute to two later shoots.
Just look at the perfection of the lipstick on the first photograph below.
Here are the links to the three vintage styled wedding shoots if you want to check out all of the photographs:
What I learned over the course of the wedding shoots was that all of the work and preparation leading up to actually pressing the shutter button shows in every photograph, and Laura helped immeasurably by putting both our male and female models at ease and making our bride in particular feel as confident as possible. Laura displayed a maturity beyond her years in troubleshooting on all three photoshoots, and she contributed to the overall style and look of the photography as well as the makeup.
Laura is based in Sunderland but covers the entire North East of England and she has lots of experience in Bridal, Occasional and Photographic makeup.
I would work with her again at the drop of a hat, and I am sure that I will be bumping into her many times in the future at weddings throughout the North East.
Edit - Since originally blogging about LL Makeup, Laura has launched her new website. You can check it out here: LL Makeup.
