My Bohemian styled wedding shoot at the Laing Art Gallery has been featured on Plans and Presents wedding blog

Back in September 2014 I had a little idea that turned into something massive.

One of the end results is that my bohemian styled wedding shoot at the Laing Art Gallery has been published on the wedding blog MrsPandP.

Wedding photography at the Laing Art Gallery

Plans and Presents (MrsPandP) is a Glasgow wedding blog covering the whole UK and is run by Alison Tinlin. The blog has a large social media following on Facebook and Twitter especially, with over 2000 and 13,000 followers respectively.

Alison regularly posts interesting and useful wedding content on her blog, things like real weddings, styled shoots, suppliers and events. I regularly share these stories on Facebook and Twitter myself.

Before I was a wedding photographer, I was a Registrar for almost 10 years, and I conducted around 2000 weddings. I got to know all of the venues in Newcastle upon Tyne very well, so when I became a photographer I was keen to make sure that a lot of the quirky, unusual wedding venues that couples just didn't know about became better known.

I approached Tyne and Wear Museums with a view to write some blog posts about them and to take some photographs of the venues to accompany the blogs. Michelle Hardie at TWAM was also looking to get the word out about these amazing venues, so we hatched a plan to bring along a bride and groom and do a styled shoot for the Laing Art Gallery, Great North Museum (Hancock) and the Discovery Museum.

I then began to organise the three shoots and they began to grow even further in scope. I got a wedding dress supplier, makeup artist, hair stylist, florist, cake maker and of course models involved.

It was hard work pulling all of the elements together, but we finally managed to complete the photoshoots in November 2014.

In many ways the hard work was just about to begin, as I then had to edit the photographs, market them on social media and try to get them in front of a wider readership.

All that hard work has paid off now, with recognition from a major wedding blog.

Onwards and upwards!
