I think it's fair to say that Ellie and James were a little nervous before their engagement photo shoot.
Who wouldn't be?
Unless you're a narcissistic rock star or a model with flawless skin, why would you want a photographer to follow you around for an hour?
Everyone is nervous.
Once we got going, the apprehension slowly disappeared. We joked. We laughed. I nailed a decent photograph and turned the camera around for Ellie and James to see. They were doing great.
We started building trust and we were relaxed in each other's company.
The rest of the session flew by in no time.
We took the funny photographs. The romantic photographs. The sexy ones. The thoughtful ones. The silly ones.
Then we said goodbye and went home to a well deserved glass of wine.
Now Ellie and James can just relax and enjoy the wedding day, and not worry about the wedding photography.
That's one of the reasons I love pre-wedding photography so much.
Oh, and here's one of the 'pretend you're in a band and this is the cover shot' photos.
