There are certain photographs that you take during the course of a wedding day, that you can't wait to open on your computer as soon as you get back home.
This photograph of the father of the groom at Katy and Tom's wedding is a perfect example. John had sneaked off into another room as the bride and groom were getting ready to go to church. He was flicking through the pages of a book near the widow, no doubt reflecting on how the day would unfold.
What I love about this portrait is it's simplicity, the quality of the light and the tones. It's unposed and authentic.
It's a timeless photograph, that could be from a wedding at any time over the last fifty years.
