Angela and Andy's intimate destination wedding in Edinburgh's Radical Bookshop is on Braw Brides
Back in August 2018 Angela and Andy eloped from the USA to Edinburgh to get married during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and I had the pleasure of documenting the day through my photography. Their day has been featured on the Braw Brides wedding blog.
They came from Massachusetts in the USA and were originally planning on coming alone, but their friends and family found out and their closest family travelled over with them.
Angela & Andy's ceremony took place in the Lighthouse bookshop, then we walked to Holyrood Park and took some lovely portraits in the sunshine. We then walked up the Royal Mile through the Fringe crowds where they had afternoon tea at the Colonnades.
Although I’m based in the North East of England I travel all over the UK to photograph weddings (I don’t charge extra for travel in mainland UK). I love working with alternative couples who love the outdoors. I'm a big fan of a photographers based in Scotland such as Jo Donaldson (and Liam!), Sean Bell and Harper Scott, as their landscape is almost as good as ours in Northumberland ;)
That's how I heard about the Braw Brides blog and I’m a regular visitor there for inspiration. I'd love to shoot more weddings in Scotland, but I don't have any more bookings north of the border :(
If you’re based in Scotland and like my work, or you’re planning on eloping there from elsewhere like Angela and Andy, please get in touch as I’d love an excuse to go back with my camera.
About Braw Brides
Here’s how Braw Brides describe themselves:
RAVING ABOUT SCOTLAND'S BEST WEDDINGS, AND THE INSPIRATION AROUND THEM.
At Braw Brides, we love to rave about brilliant weddings, basically. It’s a great place to get inspiration, advice and ideas for your own wedding, whether you’re having a wild party, a stripped back elopement, a DIY affair, a classic, simple get-together. Whatever you’re doing with your wedding, you’ll find something that opens up new ways of thinking here. We do that by featuring some of Scotland’s most creative, exciting and innovative weddings, and we’re grateful to the awesome photographers and videographers who keep supplying tremendous images of these weddings for us to share with you!
We’re always looking for new and unique interpretations of weddings, and we love a traditional affair as much as we do an off-the-wall wedding. Most of all, we’re passionate about inspiring people to do their wedding their way. The blog is now a fully tagged and searchable resource, which means it's a great place to research different interpretations of your own wedding styles. We’ve assembled a list of trusted, high quality and friendly suppliers to give couples inspiration, and hopefully championing independent Scottish businesses which is the real drive behind Braw Brides.
