Yorkshire Wedding Photographer
Nicknamed 'God's Own Country' for it's vast stretches of unspoilt countryside, Yorkshire is an amazing place for wedding photography. Just over an hour's drive away from home, Yorkshire counts as a local wedding venue for me. It offers a very wide range of wedding venues catering to a wide array of couples.
Urbanites can have city weddings in Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield or York, while at the other end of the spectrum, those with a rural bent can have a farm wedding - Dale Farm is a favourite of mine. Mansions and Halls occupy the middle ground and blend history and tradition with expansive grounds. Blagdon Hall and Kirklevington Hall are two wedding venues I've enjoyed photographing recently.
Parts of the Peak District National Park are in Yorkshire and this rugged landscape is perfect for pre-wedding and engagement photography. If you are looking for a romantic backdrop for couples photography the seaside town of Whitby is very special. Whitby Abbey was Bram Stoker's inspiration for Dracula!
I photographed one of my most memorable pre-wedding shoots in South Gare on the Teeside coast. You have the North Sea coast with a backdrop of industrial buildings from the areas steelworks and mining past. Add in a spectacular sunset and you have an epic engagement session!
Yorkshire is such a vast county, the largest in the UK, that it really does have something for everyone, whatever type of wedding they are planning.
