We had fabulous weather for Alice and Andrew’s laid back wedding at Newton Hall in Northumberland

Thanks Alice and Andrew for having me capture your emotional, happy, heartfelt and truly beautiful day.

WHAT’S THE STORY BEHIND THE TWO OF YOU (HOW/WHERE DID YOU MEET)?

We met at our old workplace - Andy worked in IT and did a very bad job of fixing my computer 😂 he was hungover and it was his last day, I mean love at first site??

CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT HOW YOU PROPOSED?

Andy wrapped up my ring box as a Christmas Cracker and put it under the tree, then popped the question as I unwrapped it - Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year so it was perfect

WHERE WAS YOUR WEDDING CEREMONY AND WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THAT LOCATION?

Newton Hall - Andy was in charge of venue research and we both fell in love with it when we first arrived

WERE YOU GOING FOR A CERTAIN THEME OR STYLE WITH YOUR WEDDING?

Classical, simple and relaxed - we’re both very laid back and didn’t want an uptight day

CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT YOUR WEDDING CLOTHES, SHOES AND JEWELLERY. ANY ADVICE YOU HAVE FOR OTHER COUPLES LOOKING FOR THEIR PERFECT WEDDING DAY ATTIRE?

Dress - Elizabeth Louise Bridal, Chester Suit - Reiss Advice - get a dress you can move in, it’s a long day to be in it, mine was so comfortable as long as I was careful walking up stairs!

CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT YOUR FLOWERS/BOUQUETS?

Sprig and Thistle - they nailed the request for simple, elegant flowers - couldn’t have asked for better considering the miles between us we didn’t actually see any of our flowers prior to the day!

WHAT LED YOU TO CHOOSE THE WEDDING CAKE YOU DID?

My beautiful bridesmaid Shaunna Hudson made us our cake as a gift to us

CAN YOU DESCRIBE THE PHOTOGRAPHY PART OF THE DAY?

We both loved the atmosphere with Barry, it was relaxed, not in your face and half the time we didn’t even know he was taking pictures Our guests have all said the same, not intrusive at all and helped keep in touch with a relaxed, enjoyable day

WHAT LED YOU TO CHOOSE ME FOR YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY?

We were looking for a photographer that loved candid shots as much as we did, we’re not a posing couple by any shot of the imagination and wanted the feel you get from in the moment shots.

A magician does a magic trick for a bride and groom. They both have playing cards in their mouth while the magician sets fire to a third.

CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT FROM THE DAY?

The ceremony was our favourite part, the whole atmosphere was perfect

CAN YOU TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR HONEYMOON?

We did a few days at Grantley Hall in Ripon as we didn’t want to be away from the kids for too long, it was a beautiful hotel with a fab spa and the best bit was the food!

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF ADVICE YOU COULD SHARE WITH COUPLES TO BE?

Don’t stress over the day too much, keep relaxed and enjoy the moments as they take so long to plan and go by so quickly

IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO REDO THE WHOLE THING AGAIN, WHAT CHANGES WOULD YOU MAKE?

I don’t think we would change a thing, it was honestly our perfect day and we were absolutely delighted!

Like what you’ve seen and are looking for a photographer to capture your own wedding in a fuss free and colourful way?
